The Carmel Residents Association is honored to publicly recognize our worthy Citizen of the Year,
Donna Jett. On Sunday March 26th, Donna will join a distinctive honor roll of 33 exceptional
citizens, who we will also recognize at this year’s 27th celebration event. Following the formal 2 PM
program with local and regional civic dignitaries delivering certificates of appreciation to our
awardee, we invite everyone to congratulate our honoree while enjoying hearty hors d’oeuvres,
cake, and beverages.

Fred Bologna, President of Carmel Residents Association says “Donna is an extraordinary example of
a sustained committed volunteer for our Village. With over 25 years on nonprofit boards and event
leadership, her contributions are almost too many to mention. Her passion for the arts and those less
fortunate have been applied to her efforts to organizations including Joining Hands, Pacific Repertory
Theater, and Carmel Woman’s Club. She also directly applies her skills and energy to our City
through her service on the Community Activities Commission for almost 20 years. Donna truly
makes an impression and a difference. We are pleased to add her to our honor role of Citizens of
the Year.

Donna Jett offers It is a privilege and honor to be recognized for volunteering and helping where I can
for the city of CarmelbytheSea and the citizens of Monterey County. I moved here to be close to my
children and grandchildren, becoming involved with the theater and dance and serving on their
committees and boards. The Carmel Womans Club and other nonprofits offered another avenue for me
to assist in so many ways and help women. Volunteering is like starfish; you pick up one at a time. When
I saw a need, I raised my hand; when asked I said yes. We all can do a small part which adds up to bigger
successes. I look forward to continuing to raise my hand in our community that offers so much to so
many. Thank you for this outstanding award and the continued support of my family and friends.”
