About the Event
John Thodos, FAIA (1934 - 2009), cultivated a fiercely independent and sophisticated Modernism which he deftly melded with the particulars of place and context creating some of the most distinguished architecture on the Monterey Peninsula. This talk traces his life and development of his unique style with a special focus on his iconic works in Carmel-by-the-Sea, demonstrating his sensitive use of scale, material, form, and detail.
