About the Event
Young people in Monterey County & beyond competed for AIM’s 2021 Design Challenge, while Carmel Sunset Rotary brought us all together to address issues of mental health affecting our youth. Hundreds of youth participated in this art contest for their work to be exhibited at local Carmel galleries in this live in-person and virtual event on April 29. Our youths' talents were put in the spotlight for the public to view. Artwork was showcased at three Carmel locations: Bennett Sculpture Gallery, Gallery Sur, & Scott Jacobs Gallery.

About AIM

About Carmel Sunset Rotary Club
"Empowering Youth Through The Arts" is our mission. Carmel Sunset Rotary Club is a new club - established in June, 2017. There’s about 17 active members now, and I am a founding charter member of the club.
There’s already a Carmel club but there was enough generosity in this small town for two clubs!
Our open meetings are hosted at Sunset on the 1st Tuesday of the month – at a different Carmel gallery as often as possible.
We’re a small but mighty club. Co-sponsoring an interact club and partnering with many other local rotary clubs on meaningful projects.
We love empowering youth – especially in the arts.
In the four years we’ve been around, we have done a lot. We hope you’ll support our mission and visit us at one of our upcoming benefits or meetings really soon.

About this Production
To accomodate the goal of broadcasting from a sequence of Watch Party locations, I developed a system of live broadcasting with a kit I could carry between the galleries. To cover the location transitions, our Production Manager played slideshow videos of the artwork. Direct to Camera addresses were done as pre-recorded videos while acceptance speeches and "keynote" presentations were done live, on-site.
For a behind the scenes, play by play of this exciting production, I invite you to watch the Instagram Stories Highlight titled "On-Air".
